Ferrari Team Quotes – Kimi Raikkonen – 5th: "Overall, I’m pleased with
this result. On the extreme wet tyres, we were very competitive and I
actually think that if the conditions had stayed bad enough for these
tyres, I could have done better than fifth place. However, on the
intermediate tyres the car was no longer as easy to drive, because it
is harder to get them working at their best. If it rains tomorrow, it
will be very tough, because here, you see almost nothing if you are
behind another car and the conditions become really difficult. I think
that today, it was the right decision to delay qualifying: at least it
meant we were able to drive in acceptable conditions, rather than just
trying to stay on the track. The F60 worked well: we know we lack grip,
but this is the problem we have carried with us since the start of the
season."

Chris Dyer: "A bitter sweet qualifying for us. Once
again, Kimi produced a fantastic performance to take a good fifth
place, while Giancarlo, having felt comfortable in the wet this
morning, was unfortunate in that his spin occurred when track
conditions were at their worst. We have gone for a strategy choice that
should allow us to have a good race whatever the weather. Well done to
the team who remained concentrated throughout the entire qualifying
session."

Ferrari: Hyvä Syntymäpäivä Kimi:

This day with an
exceptional qualifying under heavy rain, ended with a very special
party for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, at work at the Interlagos
circuit for this season’s 16th race in the Formula 1 Championship. The
whole team privately celebrated Kimi Raikkonen’s 30th birthday with a
big cake. The Finnish driver, who won the 2007 Championship here in
Brazil, was quite moved here at his penultimate race with the team that
he spent three years of his professional live with, while all members
were present to celebrate with him and showing their affection.

Hurray for Kimi and KRS! Special thanks go to Annie McKelvie and Gilraen for making it possible!

That was LONG! I couldn’t finish it, I had to leave after the first hour and a half. I was so surprised when I went online on my cellphone and saw the qualifying was still ongoing! I was almost certain they’d call it a day. Oh well. 5th is an amazing job, especially looking at how far down Hamilton, Button, Heikki, and Vettel are, hehe.Go Birthday boy! 😀 So proud of him. :)-Chiara

I knew that Kimi would give us another good result. As usual, I’m hoping for a podium and possibly a win from our Iceman. It was so long – it ended at past 3AM where I’m from and I watched till it ended! Kiki, the commentator also made a comment about Kimi going for ice cream again, which made us all laugh, but then he said that this was more probably was a comfort break. Well, Rubens had 2 so that was probably it. Can you imagine sitting in the car waiting? Might as well go.I’m happy that kimi’s team celebrated Kimi’s birthday. Honestly, I was wondering what they would do. I’m sure again that all the people in his team are going to miss him and have real affection for him.Now I have to stay up for the race again, which will start at midnight over here, but I’m definitely not going to miss Kimi’s last 2 races this season! Saima, nice card on the official website! And nice videos from you and Kinga, as well.

Great quali by Kimi – I was rather hoping that theyd’ stop at Q1 when he was second, but 5th still puts him in a pretty good position for the race. 🙂 I woke up just in time for quali having dreamt that Kimi was second and Truli was first (he was, for a short while in Q3), and that they were coming into Parc Ferme together. It was really dark too. Lol! Lol, I heard Steve Slater’s comments too, "comfort break" is a nice way of putting it!! Nice card, Saima – Go Kimi, hope it rains again today!!
