F1 GP Highlights: Turkey 2009

https://i0.wp.com/img27.imageshack.us/img27/5543/evenstarsays.png Hi everyone, I hope you all are enjoying the break until F1 goes to Silverstone next weekend. I wish I was going to be there but I’ll have to miss it just like in 2008 (which I don’t regret – hahaha!). But I count myself very lucky to have been at the British GP in 2005, 2006 and 2007 – the Victorious Year. It would have been nice to have had a good result from Turkey but that’s racing for you; unfortunate situations and mistakes will always occur. For Kimi it’s business as usual, maintaining patience and keeping hope. He did outqualify Massa which is always a positive. But I wonder how much longer it will take for a team of Ferrari’s calibre to provide Kimi with a car that he is happy with. It’s been nearly 3 years already. So while we will wait and see which direction things will turn at Silverstone, here is the Turkish GP highlight video. This one didn’t take too long to make, as the race itself was quite boring and there wasn’t much coverage of Kimi (but many thanks go to Wenny and the guys at our forum for providing what was available). I took an unusual choice of music which I personally feel adds a more sinister and dramatic tone to the whole weekend. I don’t know, maybe each viewer will take their own meaning out of the video! I hope you’ll enjoy. Kimi will be back!
Keep flying,
Evenstar

  1. Darling! I felt super sad after watching the vid…don´t get me wrong, it was wonderful, but I think it was the combination of the melancholic music and an overwhelming feeling of impotence, because Kimi is struggling and he cannot shine the way he should. *SIGH* Let´s wait and see what happens in Silverstone…Keep flying Kimi – Keep flying Evenstar!!!

  6. Thanks so much for the comments! I want to say sorry that I brought some tears from some of you, but in a way I like it because it shows how much you guys support Kimi, and how we all feel the same 🙂 we’ve been through these tough times before…I was a bit nervous after posting this video…because of the choice of unusual soundtrack I made… Because to be honest, the music is from the film The Fountain and it’s an incredibly sad/touching film. The soundtrack is by Clint Mansell, who also composed the famous ‘Requiem for a dream’ piece of music. I just love the music really, and it had been ringing in my head all week (as it’s also used in The Arrivals YouTube series I I watched last week). I did fear it would be too sad but it has come out more reflective of the situation, and it’s quite sweet, in the beginning of the video at least! lolA Brazillian F1 fan called Dorly sent me a message on the blog just now, sending his regards for the site and this video, so I’m encouraged! He is a guy and found this video emotional too, but he liked it. Wow lol The power of music…I can’t live without it lol @Sol: Oh sweetie, I’m sorry….*hugs* – I sigh with you! but alas, there’s always hope! lol

  8. Hi Saima, thanks for the video! The music with the images of Kimi is so beautiful. Although it makes me feel sad, it also makes me more sure that I will never regret supporting and loving this guy so deeply and crazily. Even though these are sad and tough memories for now, I’m sure they will all become sweet when we are old and think of Kimi and all we have gone through. Together we will live forever!Together we are invincible!

  9. The video was wonderful Saima…YINing said it perfectly, the images and the music flow together like a poem, it´s as simple as that….it´s good that you made a vid like this, it reminds us that things cannot always be perfect and peachy. We, the Raikkos, have learned to suffer as well as to be happy alongside Kimi, I´m proud of that!:p

  10. Such melancholy. You’d almost think it was the soundtrack to Kimis last race in F1 – heaven forbid. But it was really good. Sets the tone for the race perfectly. Thanks Saima. You impress me by finding the heart and making these even though the results arent better. But its Kimi through thick and thin isnt it? 😉

  15. Awesome video again. Certainly Kimi’s race wasn’t but lets hope that next one will be. Silverstone is one of Kimi’s favourite circuits. At the end off video Kimi was talking with some guys. I think those are some of Kimi’s old friends. Can I ask where did you find that video? I think it was not in MTV3 web page?

  16. @Pekka: That video was from Sky Italia, an Italian reporter was nearby and was going to ask Kimi something but decided not to, because Kimi looked like he didn’t want to be disturbed with his friends.

  19. hi Saima, thank you for the video. I felt a bit sad while watching it because at the time I was there. It was not the worst race of Kimi I’ve ever seen live, as I also saw Hockenheimring 2003 and Istanbulpark 2006 that both ended at the start of the race for Kimi. And it hurts really much if you’re watching a race live like those ones. This one, comes straight after them. During the race weekend I never felt down because I had such a good time and even after the race I wasnt too sad at all. But watching your video made me think about the race and I wish the result was different. I kinda feel sad now. The music track fits the video so well. Thank you again.
