In other news: Italian newspapers report that tonight Kimi will fly back to Helsinki where he will be attending the Independance Day event in Finland tomorrow. He will be joined by his wife, the couple being invited by the President. Then comes the FIA 2007 Gala ceremony the next day where the world champion will collect his trophy.

4th December: The World Champion began testing on Tuesday with Ferrari teammate and test driver Marc Gene.

At the first day of testing for Kimi, he agrees that the changes in Formula One make testing this winter even more important: ”If I
had to come here to drive the same car as in Brasil, then I probably
would have stayed on holiday. But with many electronic new things
you’ve got to be there. And yes, I admit I’m happy to be behind the
wheel again.”

During the tests, Kimi speaks on his experience of running with no traction control: ”I’ve spun at the second corner. Now it’s
easy to lose the car, especially when you push the accelerator coming
out of a corner. It was similar to my debut with Sauber in 2000, but
then the 10 cilinder engine helped you a lot because you could play
more with the gears, and the power built up gradually. Now with the V8
this is a lot more harsh. But, at the end, driving with these new
electronics is fun.”

Since his controversial F1 debut in 2001 with
Sauber, it’s taken Kimi six years to fulfill his dream of becoming
world champion: ”Finally no-one no longer asks
me when I will become worldchampion. I’m now concentrating on trying to
become it twice.”

Duration – 1.25mins

Kimi: "It was quite
fun, of course I was out of the cockpit for a month (mumbling) and now
it’s without traction control. Last time I drove without traction
control in 2001 when I started in F1. It is quite fun
."

Question about how it feels like to be a champion:

Kimi: "On the other hand it doesn’t change
anything in my life (some mumbling again) I’ve always wanted it and now
I got it and that’s the main thing."

Question about this upcoming schedule:

Kimi: "This week there’s lots of work, after that some vacation over New Year and back to work in January. Yeah it’s nice to drive again for a couple of days."

In other news, TurunSanomat reports that
Kimi will attend Ferrari’s Christmas party on Saturday in Maranello – he thinks it’s the most pleasant one of all the occasions this winter.

Regarding the Finn’s future in F1, Kimi said that he will continue at least the next two years in F1 or probably even more, either extending his Ferrari contract which runs out after 2009 or switch teams.

TS also reports that German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport, will
today announce a prediction that Kimi would retire after next season to
make room for Alonso. It’s not true, however, and Alonso will
definitely not try to drive against Kimi.
