Kimi’s New Car F60B Ready For Test

From Heikki Kulta @ TurunSanomat.fi | Translation: Google | Editing by Evenstar & Ozge

On Friday and Saturday, Marc Gene will
test the new F60B car of Ferrari for the first time with a straight
line test at Vairano.

Gene usually carries out the tests at Vairano, and also present will be the
race engineer of Räikkönen, Andrea Stella. Any rush from the factory to test
track cannot be expected. In the factory there have indeed been talk
about the car of Räikkönen.

The new car is lighter than previously used in the early season but not however 10-15
kilos that some Italian papers claimed.
Already the reduction of 1-2 kilos would be a significant advantage to
the adjustment possibilities of
the KERS device.

BMW has a more laborious task because five kilos of a F1.09 car
must be lightened so that Robert Kubica be would able to operate the
KERS device competitively.

Ferrari’s goal is that the new car would be at least six tenths quicker than the previous car. If this is achieved, the Maranello crew believe they can reap some rewards in Spain next week. Brawn GP may have a couple of
tenths of momentum, so the victory for Ferrari will not necessarily be immediate.

https://i0.wp.com/img27.imageshack.us/img27/5543/evenstarsays.png  Come on boys! You can do it! Kimi almost performed a miracle at Bahrain to score points for Ferrari. I’m certain that with the new updates, Kimi will be a stronger force in the races to come. Yesterday the FIA released their proposals for 2010, with minimum car weight increased and refuelling being banned for next season too. Most shocking is the two-tier series proposed. I’ll leave the rest of it to you to judge for yourself…

You have done an excellent translation, once again. I believe Kimi is at least at the podium in Barcelona.FIA’s new rules sounds interesting. Car minimum weight-lifting is a good thing. It is not intended that F1 driver have be a jockey. Intermediate refueling and tire heaters removal will provide more exciting races. At the same time it also reduces the risk to the fire in pit lane. Also the races will resolved by driving, not by the pit crueDividing series into two categories is not a good thing. It is quite clear that the rules can not be controlled properly. It would also be interesting to know how the budget cap can be controlled properly.

Hey!I think the F60B also ran with the double-decker diffuser today at Vairano. Fingers crossed for Spain…And I can’t agree more with you, Pekka, about the new proposals on the sport.

Hi Saima! Er… not sure if you know this already, but… about May 6, I went to the Ferrari store earlier to ask what time Kimi would be there. The first girl I asked said it might start at 10 or 11 and end around 2, but that it was a closed-store thing, although he might go out afterwards. The other guys I asked told me that they were told to be at the store at 7, but that they didn’t know what time Kimi would be there "for security reasons" (and because Kimi will show up whenever he feels like it). They did say it might start at 10 or 11 or something, that there will be a parade beforehand but then they’ll all be inside the store for the actual ceremony and everything. Then Kimi *might* come out and sign autographs. They advised me to come early, though, if I wanted to see him. 🙂 Are you going to go? Or do you have any more specific times? 😀 -Chiara

Hey! :)I’ll be going, yeah. I’m confused about the times though. I read somewhere that there’ll be a Ferrari car presentation at 10.40, and Kimi will do an interview/photos at 11.30. I have no idea about whether he’ll be inside the store for autographs. But if he’ll be there, I’m going even if it’s to get a glimpse of him from far.p.s There’s another article from TurunSanomat about the F60B test completion on Saturday – it met the expectations of test driver Marc Gene:http://krs.20.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=6&start=1035Hopefully the car will give Kimi a chance to fight for more than 6th place at Spain! Catalunya is Kimi’s last victory from 2008.

Maybe the car presentation is the parade the guy mentioned? Both of them said they didn’t know much… you’re better informed, hehe! Yup, I’m going too, even just to see him. 🙂 It’s probably the closest I’ll ever get to him! Maybe I’ll see you there. 🙂

I think most teams must update their cars. I don’t know if the F60B had advantage than others.I hope Ferrari can come back to fight for the title.

Hei Pekka – Kimi will be here on Wednesday! :p Just one more day to go now…But I’m not that optimistic, it will be difficult to see Kimi. I’ll try my best though 🙂 I was thinking of giving him a DVD of all my highlight videos, but I doubt we’ll get close enough for that lol

Ahh, that would be cool, Saima! I was trying to think of something to give him too, but couldn’t think of anything. I will bring something just in case he can autograph it… 🙂 Not sure what time I’ll go there. I’m about a half-hour walk away…-Chiara 🙂

Yeah, I was thinking of being there before 9… Hopefully I wake up, haha (if I can sleep! I’m getting really excited). Anyway, you might see a rather small Filipina- I’ll probably be wearing orange, though I might have a white jacket over it. Just in case you see me! 😀 (and if you still read this before going to Regent St.) -Chiara
