KRS Announcement – Don’t Worry, I Ain’t Giving Up Either!

https://i0.wp.com/i11.photobucket.com/albums/a188/SaimaAzam/Misc/krsevenstarsmall3.png Hello my dear brothers and sisters in the KRS fan community. At this moment in time, I’m going through a bit of a rough
patch (nothing overly serious) but it’s going to affect this place nonetheless. There is the Kimi life here and then there’s my personal real life that’s playing a bigger role now, and I don’t feel I can do as much as I usually can for
the website and you fans. As much as I’d love to continue, I
simply cannot manage it all alone.

So I’m afraid I have to cut back.

https://i0.wp.com/img98.imageshack.us/img98/1839/whatdidshesaykrsix3.jpg

Yes Kimi, no more treats for you! There’s just a few things that KRS will be missing now. The main thing being the highlight videos. I know you all adored them and I loved making them myself but I won’t be making any more highlight videos until I have the extra time it requires . For now, the last video of 2008 is the
Belgium GP and what a video to end it with, ironically. I’m really sorry. Of course the timing makes it bitter as this season has become like 2005 all over again. We’ve gone through a lot of highs and lows together, probably more lows, but supporting Kimi is all that matters. We can still do that here and that’s what the Kimi Raikkonen Space is for.

It was announced in Maranello yesterday evening at the Ferrari launch of their new car, the Ferrari California, that Kimi and the whole team will be assisting Felipe Massa for the 2008 championship now. Among Luca Di Montezemolo’s long speech were other comments on the world of Formula One, particularly the McLaren controversy last year.

So as you could imagine, that announcement may have played a big role in making this decision and dampened my spirit. I worked very hard this year for this website, much harder than I ever have but it seems you just can’t plan everything the way you really want, or at least see it pay off. Just as Kimi is feeling right now, I feel that a significant part of my drive to continue has been cut off. But, like Kimi, I’ll still do my best to give what I can. I officially announce that I’ve also extended my contract as a Kimi supporter and to serve you all with what you deserve!

I’ll continue to update and run the site as normal but things like the
highlight videos and GP photo collections will be put on hold for now. I’ll still continue posting my race reviews and all the latest information regarding Kimi.

I
only made this decision last night; it’s not the end of the world kind of decision, no way, but it’s a significant one and I thought I’d let you know as I was presented with a kind offer by a fellow fan and businessman to expand this website (with it’s own domain name and hosting). Unfortunately the timing wasn’t right but as Kimi says let’s wait and see what happens. Thanks for reading and I shall see you again soon. We’ve got the first ever F1 night race in Singapore to talk about next! Let’s begin right now actually, here’s the latest including an interview from yesterday’s Mugello testing:

Kimi on Singapore:
“I don’t know what time the race is. Is it in the evening? Good. I
enjoy evenings and night time more anyhow. I like to sleep until noon
every day so for me this seems the perfect venue."

"I am more awake in
the evenings than in the mornings. I am very much looking forward to
that experience, but honestly I don’t think there is much difference
for us as drivers as I assume the lights let the track look similar to
all the other tracks that we race at daytime. It will be a bit cooler
in the evening – and there is a much bigger chance of rain than during
the day time in that part of the world, so we should see an exciting
race. I will fly out one week before the race to get accustomed to the
climate, with a stopover in Dubai where I have some work to do.”

Post-Mugello Test: Translated interview from Italian (source – AFCA)

Raikkonen: ”I don’t feel like being the second driver, for the moment I don’t.”

Q: But on your website you’ve said a miracle is needed to still win the title, is that saying goodbye to all your hopes?

Raikkonen: ”I’ll repeat it, indeed a miracle is needed like that of a
year ago when I was 17 points behind with two races left to go. I know
well that it won’t be easy but you never know. It’s never over as long
as the standings still permit you a chance. The problem is that there
are little points to be gained.”

Q: And so?

Raikkonen: ”I will think about my small chance race per race
hoping to obtain good results, which is something I haven’t been able
to do for some time now. It’s the only aspect I want to remain
concentrated on. But we musn’t forget the importance of the team
either.”

Q: You’ve been testing the Singapore circuit in the simulator at Fiat’s research centre. What are your impressions?

Raikkonen: ”I see the simulator as a computergame. It was nice
looking at the racing lines through the corners but you will only know
the truth when you’re out there driving in the car. I don’t like the
simulator because it has nothing to do with Formula 1, I prefer driving
real cars.”

Q: What’s your idea of the Singapore circuit?

Raikkonen: ”That it will be an interesting Grand Prix because
every new circuit is always a nice experience and then we will also be
driving at nighttime. I don’t think it will be dangerous because the
necessary illumination will be there. It will seem like it’s daytime
and we almost won’t be noticing the difference. In short, I can’t wait
to be there.”

Q: How’s this test going ? You’ve been in the pitbox for a long time this morning, was there a failure?

Raikkonen: ”No, neither a failure, nor a problem. It took a long
time to change some small things that we wanted to try out to improve
the car, especially with regard to the set-up to overcome the
difficulties we’ve had with heating up the tyres. We’ve tried out
various solutions and the direction we’ve chosen seems to be the right
on indeed.”

Go head-to-head with Kimi at Abu Dhabi Challenge!

How do you fancy a head-to-head Formula One race against world champion Kimi Räikkönen?

No, it’s not another wild dream. Ferrari’s number one driver will be in
Abu Dhabi at the end of September and you could battle him on the track.

Ok, not on a real race track, but a virtual one.
Scuderia Ferrari sponsor Mubadala, which is based in Abu Dhabi, is
showcasing a Ferrari Interactive Zone at the city’s Marina Mall during
Ramadan. The centrepiece is an F1 driving challenge on a
state-of-the-art simulator, where visitors can test their driving
skills against their friends.

When the competition closes on 21 September, those with the fastest lap
times will be invited to pit their skills against Räikkönen when he
visits the region.

The simulator will be in the mall until September 30. Also on show will
be a short 3D video, shown in Arabic and English, focusing on the work
of Scuderia Ferrari.

You have done a fantastic job! I have so much appreciation for all the work you’ve put in. I have often wondered how you manage to keep it up. Do what you must do. You, like our Kimi, are a winner! Life often brings us at places where we need to make big decisions. Often when we look back, it is interesting to see  how new challenges have brought us to higher ground. We will support  you and we will still participate according to your beat!

Well thats very sad news, I always used your Kimi wallpaper for my computer. They are just soo great looking and are of great resolutions. Yours is probably the best Kimi site I have seen online, and its a real shame its not going to be updated as often but your life issues are more important than keeping up a website. I hope all gets straightened out and in the future you will be more able to continue making this website better!

It’s a real shock to read your announcement as I’ve only just discovered this website earlier in the year and starting to get into it now. I often wonder how much time you spend on this comprehensive website, and if you do this full time as a job or purely out of your complete dedication to Kimi. No doubt life is all about juggling our priorities and I’m sure you’ll find your balance somehow. You’ll still be a great source of Kimi info and I look forward to you coming back in full force once again. GO KIMI and you keep flying for Kimi!

Hola – well that is sad news.  And as much as I’m going to miss the highlight videos and the photos (you always seem to find the best ones) – ya gotta do what ya gotta do!  It’s a great site – just found it recently too and I love it, it’s one of my favourite sites now.  Best of luck with everything.  And to quote Trixie: "You’ll still be a great source of Kimi info and I look forward to you coming back in full force once again."  Cheers. red.

Hey guys! CHEER UP! It´s beginning to sound like a funeral in here. Saima is not leaving us, she just has some more important things to sort out, after all, she´s given up so much for us(gladly, of course), Kimi and F1, it´s only logical that she has to sacrifice some of her time in the site in order to tend to her private life. And as she said, it´s only temporary, don´t forget that she has many things in her life, University, family, friends, and on top of that she runs this place, like a master!!!She´ll  still be around, we all will. This has been one of the most rewarding years of my life, in terms of meeting people; ok, we haven´t actually met in person, but through this site we´re all able to connect with eachother and share our passion for Kimi and F1, and this is all thanks to Saima!!!I want 2009 to start noooow!!!Keep flying KIMI – Keep flying EVENSTAR!!!

I’m sorry for this decision. But I understand that, like Kimi said,  ‘sometimes life has other priorities’. It’s good you take your time, you deserve it. ;)Don’t worry too much for Montezemolo’s words, I think Kimi will remain the same and can give us a surprise also this time.Keep the faith. 🙂

Guys, I’m really sorry 😦 you’ve gone and made me cry now…especially you YiNing! It’s okay, really, just remember one thing. Kimi’s gonna keep flying and I’ll always be around for as long as he does. I might not be able to share and express the feelings in those videos or whatever, but I’ll be here like Hasan said.Perhaps the way this season has gone has upset me, of course it would, the whole point of everything I do here is due to Kimi. But Tania is right, Kimi will be the reason to remain happy and positive in the end! Don’t feel I’ve given up…I haven’t…I just need a breather, I guess, before I get on with other important things in this next half-year.Let’s look forward to Singapore! But if it ends up being another bad race for us then I won’t be as eager to come here and write my thoughts, be warned! lol Or if everything goes well in these remaining few races then I think you all deserve a treat and you’ll get one indeed….(hehe) Don’t forget, that there will still be the 2009 Kimi calendar on sale soon so not everything is being stopped 🙂 Infact, one of the reasons I have to sacrifice some things is for the calendar work actually. Don’t worry guys 🙂 thanks again for the support *hugs for all!*

Sol has said some really beautiful words… The acknowledgement of meeting people (virtually) is something that even i wanted to admit. i hv mentioned time and again that we’re like a big united family and Sol has confirmed that with her/his comments (i still don’t know if sol is he or she). it’s been rewarding time for me as well and i regret why i deliberately didn’t comment earlier this year and last year although i could hv… i regret that n will do for a long time. i would only like to make a humble request to all Raikkos. Pls stay around, keep commenting, be on the forum and the chat so that we stay united. that’s why we’re here, we’re united. we all support Kimi and we’ll go up with him or go down with him. it would be a huge betrayal or disloyalty if we scatter away at this time. we need to stay integrated. I am sure that Saima can keep us united if not thru her highlight vids & pics then at least thru her comments and reviews which we all love as much as we love the highlights and pics…
i put my hand up and say that i will be here until Kimi is in F1 or in this world rather. i hope u all will be here as well sharing ur thoughts and comments. maybe that would motivate Saima to devote little more time and we may occasionally end up embracing a few more highlight videos…

    thanx guys and stay united…..

Keep flying Evenstar !! keep flying Kimi!!!

oh, well i admit that i’m a bit disappointed, i will miss your vids and pics, thats so great but no matter! You are the most important ( and our love for Kimi of course!!) and it is YOU who gather us here around Kimi and that’s what we love above all! i still be there of course to share all about Kimi with you and others, we will support our man and we don’t need those "extra" stuffs to share our passion so we will do without it! we know it’s a big big work so we can’t  be angry with you! it’s not the end of the world!! we are the big Kimi’s fans family, i love that and it will continue! thanks for all the job you did, we can’t enough thank you for that! The place and people  are the most important, i love this convivial place and that will never change as you will be there too!

Beautiful words from you too Hasan!!! And I agree with you, I´m not going anywhere, I´ll continue to post my loooong comments here and on the forum, boring you all to death, hahaha ;p! But seriously, nothing is gonna change much, just the highlight vids, and the pics, we can upload some ourselves on the forum, they won´t be as special as the ones Saima always finds, but we´ll try.KRS family united forever!Keep flying Kimi – Keep flying Evenstar!!!P.S to Hasan: I posted a comment on the forum, in the random discussion thread, to your doubt whether I´m a girl/guy ;p!

Guys cheer up! atleast we hv Saima’s reviews and comments. They’re invaluable as well. I want to request her to stay around here in comments, the forum and chat… I think that’s shouldn’t bother her too much as I understand she has deep attachment with us Raikkonen fans… At the end of the day we meet here for Kimi, we all love Kimi and that brings us here.

Surprising I havent seen anything on the internet or news which says Ferrari met in Maranello and appointed Massa as their championship challenger. Had that been the case, the news would hv spread like forest fire….

Trully, the comments posted here are also a big enjoyment, at least for me, to read about and understand how Kimi and all you here could draw us together,as a sort of family, sharing both highs and lows, giving encouragements and hopes and keeping the impervious support for Kimi and each other!
BIG BIG THANKS to you, Saima and all of those who’d like to share their beautiful thoughts here! which make this site the best one for Kimi fans and more than that, offers us more reasons to believe in OUR FLYING KIMI!
I personally really understand your feelings coz’ sometimes we really need some time to charge us up again,as Kimi would do too.
anyhow, with Kimi and all of you here, we could always believe in! all the hard work would pay off!

I have a visitor at KRS for quite some time, but only recently made my first comment. What struck me is the loyal support for Kimi among such a diverse lot of people. What is it about Kimi that makes people support him? Surely not only his excellent driving sability? I’ve got a Google Alert for news about Kimi and I get so tired of negative journalism about him complaining about his lack of emotion, lack of motivation, lack of communication skills, blah, blah, blah… What are they missing that we can all see?
