Saturday Qualifying Drama
Qualifying seemed rather dull today, perhaps because it was shown live here at 4.45pm. Unfortunatly it became even more dull as Kimi made an error on turn 1, penalising the rest of the lap.
Renault came here to Interlagos, with an engine upgrade, new aerodyanmic tweaks here and there, and its shown its progress as Alonso grabbed Pole position. Fisichella performing his lap first and gaining fourth place is rather good. Just as Kimi did in Hungary and carried on to win the race…
However, the mistake Kimi made on turn 1 isnt something he can turn into a win without a miracle. His front left tyre is consequently flat spotted, meaning the race tomorrow is forfeit. I hope Kimi and Mclaren arent troubled, hope still remains as Juan Pablo is second place behind Alonso on the grid. Juan Pablo’s lap was excellent, he was pushing as hard as he could, he even kissed a little grass out of the last turn. He wants to win the race tomorrow, he wants to help Mclaren win the Constructors title.
Now, the title undoubtedly is handed to Alonso, sadly due to the mistakes of Mclaren, the only hope of even achieving anything tomorrow is one title, for the Team. Kimi and Juan both now have to be wiser and cautious if they want to be hailed as a part of great team work.
Which is all they can do now. Unless we see some incidents, spins, resulting into a better outlook for them.
Other drivers such as Klien, Albers, Massa (Future Young Guns) did a good effort.
Its just one of those things, cracking under pressure. Kimi made a mistake, knowing Alonso is ahead. Just as Alonso made a mistake in Hungary knowing Kimi is ahead. They are human, and I only respect them more.
Its a dark moment, as Kimi walks back

"I’ll know what Ive lost and all that Ive won when the road finally takes me home. Im going home"-LOTR

I know things look tough on you Kimi. They always have been. But you have pulled through in your own glory undimmed before the waking of another champion. You are the future of what you love. You compete like no other. You can do it.
Sunday Race Day

Well there you go. Thats the result on the podium. Juan Pablo 1st, Kimi Raikkonen 2nd and Fernando Alonso 3rd.
The lining up of the cars after the formation lap had my tummy in a wrench. I very well knew the possibilities and reality’s of the race outcome. I was just so tense. I kept repeating "Bismillah" every now and then, which means "May everything go well in the sight of Allah"
And they did. The lights went out and Mclaren made the most of their positions. Juan kept up with Alonso into turn 1, while Kimi shot up from back in 5th place. He overtook Button and on the following lap he overtook Fisichella, who seemed hopeless in defence, suprisingly. But not everything went well, David Coulthard and the two BMW Williams got into a mess as soon as the race kicked off. Coulthard simply got squeezed in between the BMW’s and smasy pashy, they are all out, except for Webber, who managed to re-join the race. Terrible start for them three then!
Juan was hanging over Alonso’s shoulder and finally made a move on him. He passed sweetly. My two Mclaren boys got up infront while i kept cheering and clapping. Kimi was closing in on Alonso however, the gap widened during a few more laps.
It pretty much kept the same pattern until the first band of pitstops came along. And it was Alonso first. Im not impressed AT ALL. Considering the thought that they brought an engine update, new aero bits and pieces, and now they pit first….ha! No beating Mclaren at racing then.
But i do honour and respect their hard work on producing a reliable car. Thats about it. Oh, and a very smart and calm racing driver. Lovely jubbly!
Juan then pitted a few laps more after the Renaults, and it was a nice easy pitstop. Same for Kimi, although much more fuel went into his car. So Mclaren were at it again with mysteries of their strategy, though it wasnt a mystery much longer lol
It was great to see both Mclarens driving together, up in front, in first and second place. Though we’ve seen that before *rolls eyes* Im happy to say that it lasted this time.
Mclaren finally got their 1-2 finish, in 5 years! This is another bitter, very bitter win for Mclaren. Their first 1-2 of the season, yet Alonso takes the title away. Very bitter. Almost like a monday morning with sugarless tea!
Kimi had been struggling with neck strain on the long left hander throughout the ending of the race. But nonetheless, keeping up well with team mate Juan Pablo. So it was a very very nice 1-2 for Mclaren in another sense. They both drove beautifully. Cheers to them.

And there you have it. The youngest world champion ever in F1 history. Id say its a rather "decent" inheritor.

And here you see my dear Mclaren Drivers. Kimi and Juan Pablo. Just look at them. It says enough.

A well deserved win for Juan Pablo. And dont forget Mercedes, they did a good job. We have won 5 of the last 6 races. Thats says alot too. We are working hard.
Congratulations to Renault. Theyve worked very hard too for the past 10 years, now they achieved a title. The Drivers title. But today, it is Mclaren who have taken the lead in the Constructors. We have yet to see, who is most worthy of taking the Team Title.
