Kimi’s Column: Hungary GP Review

From KimiRaikkonen.com | Finnish Translation courtesy of Wolfie

First of all, it’s great to hear good news from
the hospital in Budapest. Felipe is getting better quickly and let’s
wish him zemi for his recovery period. Felipe is in good hands. Let’s
hope that he gets back to drive soon.

It was a mean accident, something that could have happened to anyone
and it was a very difficult weekend for the whole team. At first we
didn’t even know what caused it. It still has to be accepted that in
this business you have a high speed and that’s why you also have high
risks. It’s part of this sport and when you go to the lane yourself you
just have to forget about it.

In the final games the 2nd position was a good result and the team got
something a bit more positive to think about. We went forward again.
For me it was the 5th trophy from Hungary. Sometimes some tracks just
are great and some aren’t – like those German places are for me.

In the race the car felt good. The balance was ok and I could go flat
out with both rubbers. The warm weather suits our car. Our ride took us
to the podium as we expected too but it wasn’t enough so that we could
challenge for the victory.

After Hungary the break starts but the season is still long and it has
it’s share of challenges when we try to keep the 3rd position in the
manufacturer’s serie which we reached on Sunday. We will try and take
more trophies in the autumn too but it’s tricky when everybody develops
their cars.

The goal is to win one race. You never know beforehand what kind of circumstances there will be in each race.

Now I have totally different things than F1 on my mind. I’m about to
make a long dream come true. I will drive WRC-rally and with a really
good feeling with a big support in my homeland.

It’s cool to get to enjoy Finland’s legendary rally paths. I will enjoy
and take everything possible out of it. I have no other goal than to
finish the rally on Sunday. This is a totally different thing than F1
when the road keeps on changing all the time and when you drive against
time.

After the rally my real vacation begins. I’m going to enjoy Finland’s
summer with family and friends. Barbeque and sport. After that it is
back to business again!

I think Kimi should leave behind this Rally things as rubbish Kimi exit rumours start. Unfortunately today the internet is full of new rumours about Ferrari fielding 3 cars and Alonso replacing Kimi. Damn I am very upset and now reading Kimi’s column again hurts me since there is mention of rally. The media takes it in negative way.. Anyway best of luck kimster.. and I am really hoping you trash your teammate next year at Ferrari.. and wish speedy recovery to Massa

I saw the reports today about Ferrari paying off Kimi first thing in the morning and it was deeply annoying! Even if he hadn’t done rally Finland, they would still have written some trash about him. I’m going to ignore it and hope that he’ll kick everyone’s a** the rest of this season (and 2010)!

Yeah Saima u’re soooo right one should just ignore it, but the problem is those rumors are so intense that you begin to wonder if they’re trustworthy specially that Ferrari haven’t strongly denied them unlike Kimi’s entourage.I think that there’s some truth in them, i definitely believe Kimi and his managers and don’t think they’ve been told anything yet, but don’t really believe Ferrari…for sure they’re doing things behind their back… it seems a bit of a trend for those people at the scuderia to backstab Kimi for the past year and a half, why the hell extend his contract for one more year when u’re already thinking of replacing him coz it’s pretty obvious that if those stories are true then Alonso had his contract signed shortly after Kimi’s.Bottom line this is completely unprofessional and disgusting from their side not to mention that they would have turned to some italian mafia 😛 for sure they have no respect to the contracts they sign so if it’s true then screw them. This actually reminds me of something Bernie said a while ago that if Alonso comes to Ferrari it will be bcoz of his talent and not a sponsor(Santander)…yeah right the only reason he will come is bcoz Santander’s chairman Emilio Botín has put all his weight to bring him there and then to say that he will pay Kimi’s salary instead of Ferrari, well he can just shove it in his ass…sorry for that but i had to get it off my chest.

This rumours are so annoying, and i do not believe in them. We all need to ignore them. I think that Kimi has performed better then Alonso has performed so far this season. How people in Ferrari doesn’t see that? Alonso is a good driver, but he is not Formula 1 God.

The best part of being a kimi’s fan is that u never need to worry about wheather he’s enjoying himself or not. He’s got talent, speed, passion. So if he really loves F1, he’ll always find a position here.If not,it’s OK for him to do something else he really enjoys. It has taken me some while to understand that. So,stop worrying, just enjoy his amazing performance!!!
