Sebastian Vettel claimed his first dry weather Formula 1 victory as
Red Bull ended Jenson Button’s run of success with a crushing one-two
in the British Grand Prix.

As Button was only able to finish sixth, Vettel’s victory ahead of
his team-mate Mark Webber and Button’s Brawn stablemate Rubens
Barrichello hinted that this year’s world championship might not be
entirely settled yet…

Ferrari Team Quotes – Kimi Raikkonen – 8th : “I got a good start, but then I was
unable to push as much as I could have done because I was always in
traffic. Obviously, my grid position, given my fuel load, penalised me
in terms of strategy. After the first run of pit stops, I found myself
right behind Trulli and from then on, my race was pretty much over. I
tried to pass him getting very close sometimes, but it wasn’t really on
as overtaking is still very difficult. I ended up fighting with Glock
but I could defend my position comfortably, both thanks to the KERS and
to the fact that I actually had quite a good pace. It’s a shame,
because given where I was at the end of the first lap, I could have got
a better result. A single point is definitely nothing to get excited
about, but it’s better than nothing. The car wasn’t bad today, much
better than it had been in qualifying yesterday.”

Chris Dyer: “We got the most out of a weekend that was
definitely not brilliant in terms of performance. Both our drivers had
great starts, getting the most of out the KERS. Then Felipe picked up a
good pace that, along with the strategy, allowed him to move up quite a
few places. As for Kimi, he was slowed by traffic and the key moment in
his race was when Trulli came out on track ahead of him when he made
his first pit stop. He was unable to pass him on the track and then,
during the run of pit stops, other drivers were able to get ahead of
him. Yesterday, we were rather disappointed both with our result and
with our performance, but today things were definitely better: however,
we have to admit there is still a great deal of work to do to be
competitive at the highest level, which is where we want to be.”

Hat-trick for Sebi! Great race by him, Great start by Kimi but kinda messed up the pitstop but they had no choice as he was lightA bit sad but he still got one point 🙂 I’m not looking forward to hear all the others say that massa was better because he started further and ended better. His drive wasn’t very impressive, (like 90%) of the time and compared to Kimi, he got a great pitstop, perfect timing so..anyway, great race from vettel, some nice battles between Lewis, Alonso and the 2 BMW guys, nice pit strategy by Brawn for Button’s last oneSo it was an okay race in general.. but not the best..

Agreed, great race by Sebs! Am really pleased for him, and it’s nice to have someone other than Button winning (nothing against the guy, but it was getting a little monotonous!). Kimi had a brilliant start but it was a pity that he was unable to capitalise on it, and towards the end I was getting really worried about Glock behind him. Bit sad about this cos Kimi outdid Massa all weekend until the first round of stops. Massa did well though! Hopefully better luck for Kimi in Germany!

yeah I was a bit worried too about Glock, thought he was gonna pass him but he didn’t 😀 I’m not saying Massa did bad though, but he wasn’t wow, he just got a great strategy. to have winners you need losers so.. it’s just that people always Massa this and that and make out that he’s better than Kimi and it’s a bit annoying.anyway, hope Red bull keeps it up, 3 weeks till the next GP, hope sebi wins again, 😀 (I’m realistic, Germany has never been too kind to Kimi so.. )

Kimi had a great start, but after that so much bad luck. First stuck behind Nakajima and then behing Trulli (in Finland we call it "Trulli train") I think it is really stupid, that even with these new regulations, nobody is able to pass? At least with front runners there were no passed at the track. Kimi said in Finnish MTV3 interview, that he had a good start, but was actually expecting even more. He said, that he should have passed Nakajima also…

after an awesome start, it’s just a huge disappointment!i know of course he did his best but it’s like i missed something during the race!he ‘s got to struggle with his car, with his strategy and everything around him! the smooth race was not yet for this week end!i’m keeping my patience…but until when? next year? if…i’m still confident in Kimi and here for him!anyway, keep flying Kimi!

The start was amazing for the first time I feel I could see the full effect of KERS… But the rest… it is a shame! damn strategy! And Trulli… well yes Lena the infamous Trullitrain.. If your stuck behind him…well…. You are stuck behind him!

Of course it is sad, that Kimi does not have any luck what so ever. Well, anyway I personally like Vettel and he is also Kimi’s friend. Vettel promised to sing in Finnish, if he wins Sunday race and he actually did it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bitgJXaF0NMI think he is almost as good singer as Kimi is 🙂

@Pekka: Did Vettel promise in general to the media to sing in Finnish or was that a bet he made with Kimi? 😉 I wouldn’t be surprised if Vettel mentioned it to Kimi first.

Saima and Beboo: I have not seen all material, but I think Vettel promise to sing for Finnish media. This thing has been going on for whole year, that always when Finnish media interviews Vettel, he is saying something in Finnish. Now he promised to sing :)Vettel’s physio is a Finnish guy and propably Kimi has also teach him some words. Anyway, Vettel is singing an old hit from 1970 like this: "Pylly vasten pyllyä bum bum, Siinä sitä jotakin on!".

@Pekka2: I’ve seen in YouTube, Vettel sang the finnish song. It’s really cute although I cannot understand it. Guess it means something happy as he sang it with a happy face!!! But I haven’t seen him speaks in finnish yet, will search for it. Pretty amazing that he learns finnish that quick…..I love seeing him with Kimi…Really great buddies!
