Full practice report can be read here

Kimi Raikkonen led a Ferrari resurgence in the second free practice
session at Sepang ahead of this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix.

Having recovered from the smoky cockpit dramas of the morning,
the Finn eclipsed team-mate Felipe Massa, setting the fastest lap of
the weekend so far – 1:35.707.

It wasn’t a trouble-free session for the Finn though, as the
team came over the radio at the end of the session reporting a problem
with his Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS).

No smoke anymore (Ferrari): The first free practice session for the
Malaysian GP ended with lots of smoke for the Scuderia Ferrari
Marlboro, when Kimi Raikkonen had to come back to the box, because
dense white smoke came out of his cockpit. The car stopped just a few
metres in front of the garage and was brought to the box by the
mechanics, where they started to find the cause. Everything the Team
does is done respecting the emergency rules, which means that the
engineerrs are wearing special protective overalls and gloves. After a
first exam of the car it seems that the problem was caused by a short
circuit in the KERS. A new KERS will fitted immediately. Kimi’s session didn’t go very well. The Finnish driver had to almost
immediately change his first set of tyres – the first of three
available today – because of a cut on a rear wheel.

Ferrari Team Quotes – Kimi Raikkonen – 1st: "This morning we had a
problem with the KERS, which cost us a bit of time, but we managed to
make up for most of it in the afternoon. We had felt that the situation
here could be different to Melbourne, but it is still too early to say
where we are up against the opposition.

"What we can be sure of is that when the car runs trouble-free, we
are competitive. We hope we can do a good job in tomorrow’s qualifying."

https://i0.wp.com/img27.imageshack.us/img27/5543/evenstarsays.png Good start to the weekend so far. I’m not sure what happened with Kimi this morning though, problems with the KERS and a smokey garage? From what the picture shows, I guess it was just the KERS system. I knew I should have woken up to watch practice and see what’s going on! Anyway, second practice shows some promising pace for Ferrari, but let’s see if they can keep it up with reliability for tomorrow. Keep Flying! ~
