Thursday at Monza, Lewis Waffles & Kimi Ignores

https://i0.wp.com/img99.imageshack.us/img99/1016/0161411xp8.jpgWorld champion Kimi Raikkonen says he was ready to pit for wet
weather tyres before crashing out of the Belgian Grand Prix last Sunday.

The Ferrari driver led for most of the race before a downpour with
three laps left helped Lewis Hamilton caught up with him and pass him.

The track was so wet that some drivers decided to pit on the last
lap in order to put on wet weather rubber. BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld
pitted with two laps left, a decision that got him onto the podium.

Raikkonen, who was running second when he crashed, said he was ready
to pit and reckons he could have won the race if he had not crashed.

"I would have come in, but I never made the last 100 metres,"
Raikkonen told reporters at Monza. "I was coming in to change the tyres
and probably it could have worked out very well but I never got there."

The Finn, who was embroiled in a thrilling battle with Lewis
Hamilton, said he did not want to get involved in the controversy
surrounding the penalty given to the Briton after the race.

"I think there has been a lot of talk… but I don’t really want to get involved in the whole thing," Raikkonen said.

"I was a part of the thing here, but everyone knows the rules, there
is always action taken if you do something wrong and this time that was
the decision they made in the end.

"Sometimes it is hard to say if it is right or wrong but I don’t
want to get involved in the whole thing. Definitely everybody has two
different views of the whole thing, some like it, some don’t. That is
life."

He added: "There are some rules, the FIA knows about it, but I am
not the guy who makes the decisions. That is for the guys who made the
decision. I didn’t get any advantage but that was my fault in the end.
I wanted to win, it didn’t help me, but that is racing and that is
rules."

Raikkonen seemed to be much slower than Hamilton when the track was
wet during the Spa race, and the pair made contact a couple of times
during their fight.

Their difference in speed nearly caused a crash between them,
something that led Hamilton to say on Thursday that Raikkonen was
driving too slowly.

"That is how he drives," he said. "If you don’t have the balls to
brake late then that is your problem! At the end of the day, in those
situations it is the driver who can feel the grip more and put the car
more on the edge. And I know I am great in those conditions.

"I felt the grip more than him, I knew where to place my car and I
did place it in different positions to him and I found the grip."

Raikkonen, however, was unfazed by Hamilton’s comments.

"I don’t mind that. Like I said he has his own opinion on anything,
but that is not what happened at the first corner. It is more about
what happens when you cut a chicane and get an advantage or not.

"If you put the concrete wall there you could never come there in
the first place, it is more about that than what happened at the first
corner."

The world champion also made it clear he intends to keep fighting
for the title, and suggested he won’t play a supporting role to
teammate Felipe Massa until he has no mathematical chance.

"I know what the team expects from us and like I said as long as I
have any chance and are in the points I will keep trying, and if it
happens and I don’t have any chance then it is a different story.

"I don’t see it is up to me – we race as hard as we can both of us and we see what happens at the end of the season."

https://i0.wp.com/i11.photobucket.com/albums/a188/SaimaAzam/Misc/krsevenstarsmall3.png I guess I don’t have to add my opinion on Lewis’s comments but I can’t help it. His arrogance always seems to shoot right up to another level after criticisms, not only from the FIA/stewards but also his other Formula One competitors. Everyone seems to know what they’re talking about, apart from Lewis. The guy who boasted no one overtakes him on the outside on Saturday at Spa, but then Kimi goes and does just that on only lap 2 of the race, maybe Lewis will have to eat another piece of humble pie this weekend.

Lewis is scared of Kimi, he always will be and his waffling are clear proof of that. It’s not about ‘having balls’, it’s not about being proud of your ‘talent’, it’s about behaving properly and respecting the drivers and the rules. Kimi had no balls as he wasn’t braking late right? Well, at least he has the balls to lose fairly!

love the video of belgium grand prix!!Ā  how long does it take you to make these? I tried once and gave like after 5 minutes šŸ™‚ Anyway thanks for posting the article. Kimi always true to himself, very rare thing in the paddock – see Hamilton & Massa can say stupid things too sometimes – I think Hamilton is digging his own grave everytime again, what he says doesn’t make sense (makes him look like an honest, lil angel) and a lot of people think like that so even when he says something that might be true people won’t listen, kinda brush it off like he’s talk bs again. you know what I mean? He’s not a very creditable source in contrast to Kimi who doesn’t do one thing and say another thing. Kimi is the first to amid his mistakes and his answers in interviews are the best. Honest, sometimes funny, just who he is.Yeah I know I’m nagging but the guy is just my fav in the paddock, he’s the one who makes me watch formula 1 so..Ā  Just one last word, I think he really got a point by saying that in the end Massa got to do it himself, and I think he would help Massa only if he is mathemattically out. People are talking bout Kimi to support Massa like Massa did last year but he only did that when there was no chance for him to win the championship, no chance, none so Kimi shouldn’t do it earlier neither. It’s gonna be though but I hope that he has fun like he had in Belgium and fights till the end – Greetz

Love your website!!! Thank you for being one of the only people out there sticking up for Kimi with a blog!!! šŸ™‚ I don’t do it because I don’t have enough time for that… but I’m really fond of your website, I’ve been a daily visitor for the last couple of weeks since I found it.
Lewis is a loser… it’s not all about being a good driver, he needs to learn how to keep his thoughts to himself and not trample over people like he does! I’m so angry at him right now… he was my third favorite driver, but now I think he’s a horrible human being for being such a retard and calling Kimi a coward.

Cheers Karen, it’s a pleasure šŸ™‚ I never had a problem with Lewis, I still think he’s an awesome racer and is really fast but that’s where my respect ends and he’s even tarnishing that with his dirty tactics, so yeah, I think we have every right to say he chats bullshit. And just for fun. Kimi handles his balls with care, mate.I won’t be around tomorrow to post info and videos/pic on practise, will be on a long day out so I won’t be around till late evening. I hope to see lots of comments here though, on how you guys perceive the weekend to be from Kimi’s friday practise šŸ™‚ Keep flying Kimi!

This is the worst comment I’ve ever heard. Kimi has no balls to brake late, oh that makes me sick to my stomache. His dad Anthony should take his spoilt brat to a primary school rather than Mclaren motorhome. If I see lewis, my right fist meeting his left cheek wouldn’t be a big surprise and then Lewis having a dental therapy wont be a surprise either..
This is how he joked earlier this year when his father crashed a Porsche and that weekend he smashed into Kimi at very slow speeds in the pits(Canada), slower than his dad. I think he’s shot himself in the foot again, he is in for trouble in Monza.
Saima pointed out perfectly that he is afraid of Kimi, he’s been afraid since the very beginning. Remember spa post race conference where he praised Massa like hell and called him team leader..
    Ā
Gosh, he needs a beating, that’s for sure. I reckon a backmarker should crash his goofy a**.

Can I just thank you for having such a great website, I regularly visit for the greatĀ videos and photo’s that you have, so I felt obliged to finally comment.Ā  AsĀ for Hamilton, if he was world champ I wouldn’t mind being English it would be nice, however I am much more off a Kimi fan and would rather him win.Ā  In the UK there is a general consensus that he can’t do wrong and he is the dogs bollocks.Ā  However its comments like these that make think he is a bit off an arrogant cunt.Ā  Ok Lewis we all know how good you are in the rain, but to say Kimi doesn’t have balls, pfft idiot, this is the same Hamilton who doesn’t get taken around the outside.Ā  All he does is talk the talk.Ā  Today there was a story saying he is going to keep his "ice cool" composure.Ā  Ahem lets not forget who the real Iceman is!!Ā  Great website, appreciate all the hard work you must put in šŸ˜€

This is my first time sharing a comment with like minded Kimi supporters. Really pleased to discover this website several months ago on viewing Kimi clips on youtube. You have done such a fantastic job, compiling extensive Kimi info for his worldwide fans to share. Keep up the great work!
I have to express my opinion about Lewis after Spa GP. Kimi is the rightful winner in my books, having led 41 outĀ of the 44 laps. What Lewis said about KimiĀ shows his immaturity andĀ until he gets aĀ Championship title under his belt, he should learn to keep his trap shut and stopĀ contradicting his own comments. As usual, Kimi does notĀ waste time on childish, idioticĀ statements, he’ll just let his racing do the talking. The 2nd Practise at Monza proves that.
ShouldĀ Lewis win the Championship, it will be from ramming Kimi out of races.Ā Kimi will no doubt fight on as long as it’s mathematically possible to win the championship. All the commentators calling for Ferrari to settle on one driver are premature talk. The Schumacher dictatorshipĀ days areĀ gone. KimiĀ does not need the scales to tip towards his pit garage because he has plenty enough talent, thank you very much. GO KIMI at Monza!
Really happy that Kimi will race thru to 2010!Ā Ā Ā Ā
