Kimi Wastes No Time | Mika Hakkinen Chat

Question remains whether it was a posh do in an evening club – or a full on blast with mates in style

The day after his official column was released where he expressed his joy for the three week summer break, Kimi Raikkonen was spotted in a night club in the quiet and rural part of Finland, in Åland.

This information comes from a friend I know called ‘BrainPain’ at a motorsports forum. He lives in Åland and obviously, the news of their famous countryman spread around quite quickly! Here is the conversation between him and a work collegue, and then his thoughts:

"Okay, first thing I heard when I came to my work shift today:

He: "Were you at the night club last night?"

Me: "Umm, no. Why?"

He: "You know who were there?"

Me: "No, who?"

He: "
KIMI F****** RÄIKKÖNEN"

Me: "Yeah right."

He: "I’m serious."

Me: "You better not be."

He: "Well call and ask *One of the night club guard’s name*

Me: "Okay"

*Calls*

Me: "Hey. Did you have a special visitor last night?"

The guard: "Yeah, Kimi Räikkönen. It was quite cool."

I got silent. Completely silent. Hang up. Tried to figure out what had happened last night. Kimi was on Åland, and on the night club. The ONLY night club on Åland. I
had plans on going out last night but noone would join me. I went
outside and sat down on a bench and called my friend, who is as big
Kimifan as I am. He only answered the phone, said "Yeah, I know", and
hang up. That is about how f****** annoying this is for us. I mean, Kimi isn’t here often at all, don’t know if he has been here at all before.
And then we misses him when he finally is here. Who knows when he will
come again.

And to add nitric acid to the already huge f****** wounds, one of my
friends comes in to where I work and I asked if he was out last night,
he answered "Yeah. Some F1 driver was obviously out. He asked one chick
if she wanted to come to an after party at his yacht, but she said she
wanted to go home and sleep." I just wanted to die."

So there you have it. Kimi got down to having fun in no time and a poor Kimi fan was left distraught at the opportunity of seeing him being blown away.

Here is what Åland’s local newspaper, Ålandstidningen, read this morning:

"Ferrari guy parties in town"

Without making any bigger scenes, the F1 driver Kimi Räikkönen has managed to both have a dinner and party in Mariehamn.

The young F1 driver Kimi Räikkönen came, saw and left. He and his
friends arrived to Mariehamn by boat last Wednesday and docked at Östra
Hamnen. In the evening they went to the bars, and next day they had a
dinner in Mariehamn. At 1700 they went away with their boat.

Where they
were going Kimi’s friend didn’t want to tell. He did praise Åland
though.

"It is very nice here, we might come back again".

Kimi Räikkönen himself didn’t want to talk to Ålandstidningen.

Next time Kimi, you’ll need to go to a quieter night club in a quieter island, news of you will still be reached.
Tongue out

Mika Hakkinen UOL Chat!

batepapo.uol.com.br

On Tuesday, August 7th, compatriot to Kimi and ex two-time WC Mika
Häkkinen was a special guest on the UOL chat!
He spoke with
all Brazilian fans and talked about his anti-alcoholism project.

Photos of the chat

Kimi came into the chat a few times, as you can read some questions posed to the two-time F1 world champion:

1. Your compatriot Kimi Raikkonen has problems with alcohol. Would you offer a ride for him?

Mika: If he asked a ride I would give, but I think to say he has
problems with alcohol is not correct. He´s young and likes to have fun
like any other young guy. The media exaggerates in these cases.

2. How do you see the current moment at McLaren, with a tough dispute between Alonso and Hamilton?

Mika: I believe the situation is quite difficult internally, they
are great drivers, I do understand this situation. Fernando is spaniard
and has a latin spirit, but he can contour this.

3. What´s your opinion about the future of Kimi Raikkonen in Ferrari?

Mika: He´s my compatriot and also my friend. I wish him all the
best. McLaren is a strong team while Ferrari, I have doubts If they can
keep this performance.

4. Why Finland can produce so many great drivers? Why other countries in Scandinavia don´t have the same success?

Mika: Indeed the finnish drivers are very good at Rallying, F1 and other motorsports, but it´s a secret I won´t reveal.

5. The McLaren team was accused of espionage, F1 today is worser than in your time?

Mika: It´s becoming difficult, more complicated and political, but I wouldn´t like to talk about it. But the answear is yes.

6. Mika, what was the most remarkable race in your career?

Mika: Among many races, the Monaco GP was the most special one.

7. Do you think Kimi did the rightest thing when he changed McLaren to Ferrari?

Mika: I think the decision was wrong.

8. In 1995, you had a massive crash at the Australian GP, did you feel apprehensive upon racing once again in this track?

Mika: Luckily, the following year, the race was transfered to another
circuit in Melbourne, but If I had to race at Adelaide again, this
would be a problem.

9. Who will win this season in F1?

Mika: I´ll give my asnwear only in October, it has been a very competitive season, but only in October we will know.

10. Is there any plan for you to test a McLaren this year?

Mika: No.

Mika is a great man and a great Finnish talent in the world of motorsport, now participating in the DTM, but although he was a close friend to Kimi, Kimi always made his own choice. But the Ferrari driver respects Mika hugely, and did say his favourite F1 driver was Mika before he joined the sport himself.
