It seems Kimi was doing his usual promotion business today, with Shell in Finland. (Click on the image to view the video).
Shell.com says the trip took him to a venue in Helsinki also attended by Mark Wakem,
Shell Formula One Engine Oil Development Leader, who joined the
"Iceman" for a Q&A session and photo opportunity with Finnish media. From Helsinki Kimi travelled up to the construction site of a Shell
offshore platform located at Pori in the North-West of the country, to
promote construction safety. Here he was greeted by a capacity crowd
and answered a series of questions, which ranged from ‘what’s it like
working with Shell and the Ferrari team?’ to ‘do you miss rye bread
when travelling around the world?’
TS Article Translation – Warwick (Official KR Forum)
"We have to win as many races as possible. And it depends what
others (teams) do too. Now we get to tracks which should fit well for
our car. As long as the car is reliabe, it is fast. One bad race for
them (McLaren) or me can change the situation dramatically."
"Hopefully there would be some minor problems for McLaren. Which
would ease our position. I believe that I will catch the top a lot in
next races. In few last races I catched the top by 8 points, when I won
couple of times. Then, we suffered a setback again."
Räikkönen balances skillfully how to set his words when talking about his previous team.
"Of course it helps us if there is all kinds of problems inside
McLaren. Certainly it will not help them. Even one race could help us,
if they mess up."
So, what kind of driver is Hamilton?
"Hamilton is an excellent driver for sure, who is in the right team
at the right time. If he would drive in some mid-field team, he would
perform like the rest."
P1 and P2 help the most.
"When we will have a good weekend as a team, we should get P1 and P2."
"Hungary was probably the hardest race for us from the last remain
races. It’s a street race like and bumpy one. On that kinds of tracks
our car doesn’t work as it should. When the tracks are faster and the
straights longer, they fit better for us."
"In a way I’m satisfied that I got second place from the race,
because it was the worst track for us. But on the other hand, we should
have got more points than the leader but he was the one who was in
front of me. But there will be enough races ahead."
Räikkönen pleased at Ferrari
"There’s good atmosphere and nice people. These guys are more involved with
their hearts and show their feelings more than in my previous team. The
debriefs are the biggest change. There are alot more of those and it
all is just better organized. Every perfomance is is studied detail
after detail."
