Kubica: I can do what Kimi did last year

Kubica says he still considers himself a title contender going into the
final two races. The BMW driver’s consistent strong performances –
despite his car
falling away from McLaren and Ferrari’s pace – have kept him within 12
points of championship leader Lewis Hamilton.

Kimi Raikkonen managed to overturn a 17-point deficit in two races
to win last year’s title, and Kubica says that proves that the fight
remains wide open.

"I think you at least
have to try, there is nothing to lose," he said. "I think Kimi showed
last year that anything is possible."

But he admitted that he faced a tougher situation than Raikkonen, whose Ferrari was quick enough to win both the deciding races.

"The difference is that I have two guys in front of me, not one and
at normal pace it’s no secret that we are not as fast as (Felipe) Massa
and (Lewis) Hamilton, so life is a bit more difficult but everything
can still happen," said Kubica.

The Pole remains frustrated that BMW lost ground after its early
strong performances, which saw him leading the standings following his
Montreal win.

"Once you are able to be
leader after seven races, you should be able to fight for the
championship," Kubica said. "We didn’t improve a lot lately with the
car, so this didn’t help me but still, I’m 12 points behind the leader."

But Kubica has been reassured by the unpredictable events of recent grands prix.

"Over the last three
races it shows that everything can be possible," he said. "In Monza we
had changeable conditions – I started 11th, I finished third. In
Singapore I would easily have finished on the podium, I think. My race
was ruined by safety cars, so it’s changeable.

"We have to be there and I hope this is a good boost for the last
two races and I hope we can find a few tenths which will help me in the
battle."

Flying….Kubica?! What an amazing turn around that would be if he wins
the championship. He’s been the dark horse all season anyway, being the
most consistant points scorer and having taken his maiden F1 victory in
Canada, bagging his first world title too would just be fantastic for
him and BMW. I’d rather Kubica win this championship than what’s his
name…let’s call him Mr Big Balls.

Kimi’s totally out of the championship mathematically, unless Mr Big
Balls ends up being further punished by the FIA for bad behaviour,
which he’s shown in the past few races and probably will continue to do
so, he warned us he’s still going for the wins remember! Anyway, last
year the Brazil GP was held on the 21st October and Kimi won the
championship that day. This year, Kimi’s lost the championship with a
coincidental 21 point deficit. For Kubica, he’s in a better position
than Kimi was, he’s 12 points behind the leader compared to Kimi’s 17.
He doesn’t need to win races to win the title. Kubica can collect 3rd
place finishes in China and Brazil with Mr Big Balls again ending up
out of the points, and to be honest that’s quite realistic because he’s
quite stupid, Kimi told us at Canada after all. But Mr Big Balls never
apologised then, nor did he yesterday so someone’s got make him a sorry
ass. And Kubica may well be the man. BMW are confirming this by adding
a bit more spice in the McLaren VS Ferrari battle:

"As long as there is theoretically still a chance to win the world
championship, then we will not sleep," explained Rampf. "We’ll try and
do what’s possible in this short space of time."

"We’ll try to really concentrate on every detail of the preparation
for these races. There won’t be any big updates, but we can make small
changes, and we can try to use the potential of the tyres in a more
perfect way."

On Friday is Kimi’s 29th birthday too, so don’t forget to send in your birthday wishes on the birthday page!
I know what present Kimi would like at China, he won there last year so
he’ll be extra hungry this time for the icing on the cake…

Hey evenstar, how are you? Haven’t been around that much, a lot of work,…Nice to see Kimi on podium again and Fernando (did miss him on the podium too during first half of the season) Right now I would like to see Kubica pull a Kimi and winning it this year, I like him better than the two other whinning egocentric b*tches, sorry for the language but I never really like Hamilton and Massa can sometimes like a spoiled brat himself. He blamed Sutil in Valencia, and now blames Hamilton & Bourdais. I haven’t seen the start but I have seen the incident with Bourdais and I thought Massa was gonna get a penalty but seems that I was wrong. Anyway Kimi did well, Kubica & Alonso too, nicest podium I must say, and Piquet, maybe he’ll stay at Renault next year, I mean he did well, got to a point where he could catch up with Kimi, it was niceAnyway thank you for keeping the site up to date and I hope everything is getting better for you, sure Kimi’s podium would bring some joyGreetz

Hi Lena! Thanks for popping by. I’m alright, everything is going to be getting harder but hopefully it’ll end in a positive lolYeah good point about Piquet, I overlooked his race yesterday but obviously other things were in my mind. I’m sure he’ll improve, he’s just been a slow learner…Massa can be childish too, blaming others all the time, but he’s nothing compared to Hamster. Hamster hit into Kimi at Canada, we all could say that was deliberate and why not? He played dirty with him at Spa and even insulted him afterwards, and at Japan yesterday he couldn’t handle Kimi infront despite Kimi not even being his championship rival. I can shout out loud and clear that Hamilton’s been deliberate in his actions against Kimi simply because he’s jealous and scared of him. That’s right, Hamilton is scared and jealous of Kimi as a racer and as a person. I’m fully convinced. Maybe I’m overreacting, I’ll be the first to admit any wrong, but that’s how I see it. Hopefully Kimi can continue is qualifying progress from Japan into China and win the race. If Hamilton is anywhere near him and fucks Kimi’s race again, then for sure Im not overreacting. Argh, it’s just really pissing me off right now. I wish I could ignore it like Kimi does. He’s amazing!I have to share these scans of an Autosport magazine feature that someone posted in the official forum. titled "The REAL KIMI RAIKKONEN". It’s a must read and it has lots of quotes from people who know Kimi. (Big thanks to Wenny)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3006/2938288803_e4507128cb_o.jpg

    Also this:http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/f1/uutiset.shtml/arkistot/f1/2008/10/730495

    "Lauda: I’m disappointed in Hamilton"

Niki Lauda thinks that Hamilton hasn’t learned from his last year’s mistakes.

-I’m disappointed in Lewis. It was a completely useless risk. His
gamble paid him world championship already last year, Lauda reminded
    accrording to DPA.

    http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/f1/uutiset.shtml/arkistot/f1/2008/10/730449

"Stewart harshly: Hamilton’s mind control breaks down"

-His actions on first corner was a bit arrogant towards other drivers, Stewart said in his RBS-column.

-Japan GP showed that Lewis is still very young driving his second
season, and although he may seem calm on interviews, he doesn’t have
that same mind control when he races, Steward stated.

-Hamilton’s drive wasn’t his finest moment. According to the old
saying "you can’t win on the first corner, but you can lose it there."
That’s exactly what happened. I assume that Lewis doesn’t, despite his
calmness outside the car, follow the race plan planned for winning
driver’s and constructor’s championships, Stewart continued.

Keep flying Kubica alright! I prefer to say "go Kubi go" as Marilyne said, "Keep flying Kimi" is Kimi´s trademark….and yours!I think Robert can pull it off, he needs to win one of the races and Hamster needs to screw one up , hmmm, that´s easy for him! Put a red car in front of him, any red car and he´ll just go berserk! It´s like Nicki said, his brain says one thing but his body does something else. How can he be so stupid and arrogant, if he were a true racer he wouldn´t do what he did, no matter how young or inexperienced he may be; but his actions again prove these points…..And know all the former drivers and champs begin to say that they´re disappointed in him, when last month/week it was nothing but praise.I´m keeping my fingers crossed for Kubica, maybe one win for him and another for Kimi(and Kubi 2nd) would be ideal, and Hamster  doooooown the grid!KEEP FLYING KIMI – KEEP FLYING EVENSTAR!!! GO KUBI GO!!!

Wouldn’t it be great if Kubica did do it? I couldn’t think of a better result if our Kimi can’t win it.Thanks Evenstar for the Autosport article on Kimi too…it’s nice to read something positive for a change.   I’m so sick of reading negatives lately, some of those quotes are really good and show everyone the real Kimi and the reasons why others think of him badly.

Ya…the Championship is wide open now and it will be interesting to see how it evolve in the next 2 races….  All I want is for Kimi to win again, it was so nice to see him smile on the podium in Japan and I hope this happiness will continue until the end of season.

Of course Keep Flying Kimi stays with Kimi only! Hence the question mark when I used it for Kubica lolBy the way guys, I suspect the FOM have found out about my Viddler F1 video page, my account isn’t working and all videos are deleted. I haven’t received an email about it yet though but I guess it’s the FOM. I can’t believe it! I’m so angry….anyway, I’ll still upload videos but they won’t be on streams obviously. I’ll just upload them to mediafire so you can download them from there. All my highlight videos on Viddler are also gone, which is a shame. I wonder if the FOM found out about Viddler through this site because it’s popular? lol…Kubica, he’s made very few mistakes this year, hardly any at all. So if he wins, he’ll have that to be proud of. Most consistant scorer, race winner, pole sitter, it’s not like he won’t deserve it! Massa and Hamilton are too immature for world titles, they’ve self-destructed and I guess it’ll be the same at China.

Yes, let´s hope they self-destruct in China as well……I believe they will, because if they were "calm" for Japan, and just look at what they did, the pressure must be ten times higher for them now…….Hamster will surely loose it and Felipe will crack too.Sorry about your Viddler account, can´t believe FOM actually takes the time to go through these sites (or have someone do it for them) and have everything deleted, nobody is doing any harm!!! A**holes!Keep flying Kimi – Keep flying Evenstar!!!GO KUBI GO!
