A Bitter Surprise
It was a bitter disappointment and surprise we had in Canada. I can’t believe, that somebody can hit you when you stand in the red light side by side with another car. I can’t believe he did not see the red light, and, more than that, the two stationary cars. For my part, I think Hamilton deserved his penalty. He loses ten places on the grid at the next race in France, and at least, that’s not going to make things any easier for him.
Obviously, we lost a good result in Canada. Before the pitstop I felt that the car was very strong in speed. We could have won the race, or in the worst case, come second.
On Saturday we had difficulties in qualifying because of the breaking surface of the track, and then, for a while the beginning of the race. The left front tyre started to grain, but as soon as we got the front tyres working well we went very fast.
We got the fastest lap time before the safety car, then we had a great pitstop and put our car out in the front. I was ready to fight and try to beat Kubica after the red light but that never happened. Instead came Hamilton, and our race was over.
I was not angry, just disappointed, surprised and frustrated all at the same time. He knows there was a red light. Accidents happen, but not with two stopped cars.
Now seven races have past and we have had two bad results in a row. It is something nobody could have predicted. Obviousl our position is not that strong anymore but its not the end of the world for us. We have not lost that much.
We are fourth in the championship. It’s the same position as last year and like then, there’s a long season ahead of us.
It was good for that Kubica won in Canada. Congratulations to him for taking the maximum points. For us, it was better that he got the ten points and not my main rivals, who are now just three points ahead of me.
The BMWs have always been there and have always scored points. When something has gone wrong for us, they managed to take a nice lead. I’m not too worried about that, but obviously, if they keep scoring each time then it will be hard to catch them up in the championship.
But we have a very good feeling with the car. We will win soon again. Now we go to the circuits where we should be strong from since the very beginning of the weekend.
Monaco and Canada are far away in the past for me. Since coming out the car after the crash in Canada, I put it all behind and I have been just focusing on France. We won thee last year and will do our very best to win there again.
As you can tell, it’s still quite a mystery and a shock to Kimi how that accident could ever happen. But as a spectator, we could feel something was inevitably going to happen once all those cars entered the pitlane at once. I find the race control’s decision to put the red light on so suddenly for just 2 seconds even more mysterious, without clearly showing if the other cars on track were a hazard at the exit of turn 1. Alas, not everything goes right sometimes and Kimi’s more than ready to move on.
Felipe Massa is Kimi’s main rival this year, no doubt about it! They’ve been
pretty much 50/50 so far this season and I’m glad Massa’s got his act together
(he was always fast but just a little rough and hasty, this has
improved over learning his mistakes and with time) because it means Kimi can
really push even harder and this can only mean he can get faster, and stronger. Some fans have been complaining "where’s the
old Kimi, he doesn’t seem bothered" and etc. That’s not the case
really, it’s clear that he’s not in the same car as he was at McLaren
and he has a much more competitive teammate. It wasn’t ever going to be
easy.
He looked like he got over his tyre issues at Canada and
that’s encouraging. Definately better than his situation last year too,
as someone pointed out. He’s 6 points off the lead now, last year he
was around 20 points behind. He can win the title again for sure. And he never
gives up no matter the impression he gives time to time when he isn’t
winning. Just because he’s cool and unfazed about everything doesn’t
mean he isn’t bothered.
BMW will continue to be strong this
season, as Kimi also said, because they’ve been right behind since
Australia and last year. They won’t back down. Robert has a chance
to win the title, and I say this because his consistancy and ability to
drive fast without making mistakes is vital. Kimi won only one race in 2003
compared to Schumi’s 6 (or was it 5?) but he was still able to fight for
the title in the last round at Japan, being 3 points off. So, it’s
definately possible for Robert to win the title if he’s consistantly
scoring podiums. So, the next races are vital for Kimi to get back in control.
At Ferrari, they can manage a
1-2 finish with their drivers easily if they wanted but the past two races they’ve been
unlucky. McLaren have had their share of bad luck now, but now they
we’re heading to the traditional circuits, they’ll struggle even more
to fight against Ferrari and BMW together regarding the championships
points. The pressure is definately on Lewis, more than it is on Kimi, because as much as a competitive teammate can take points off you, it’s still handy if he’s right up there with you to take points off the others. Last year Alonso and Lewis kept
taking points off eachother but Heikki isn’t exactly doing that neither
is he defending Lewis. Not saying he should, but that’s what McLaren
have placed out but it hasn’t really worked out.
I
believe Kimi will win a few more GPs, won’t be surprised if he wins the
most again, but he knows he just needs to win them whereas Lewis and
Heikki aren’t exactly the strongest pairing to attack at the moment.
Massa is consistant now, like Kubica, and therefore Ferrari have the
better team position than McLaren.
We’ve had 3
different championship leaders in 5 races, Kimi after Malaysia, then
Lewis after Monaco and now Robert after Canada. It can certainly turn
upside down in France, but being a more normal circuit, it probably
won’t. Ferrari will be glad to be rid of the past race and can now get
back to Europe, back to winning. If Massa can hold Kimi down after the
Finn’s ‘revival’ in Canada, then he has a shot at the title better than
Kimi obviously. But this is where the talent and skill comes to play.
And that’s why I’m a supporter of Kimi, as I believe he can get the
better result at the end of the day. Keep Flying Kimi ~

Hi Saima! Well there´s really nothing to add to what Kimi said and on what you commented, it´s quite clear. Our champion did what MATURE racing drivers do, he just put the incident and everything that has happened in Monaco behind him and is properly focusing on France. I´m positive Ferrari and Kimi will be very comepetitive in Magny Course; and as some have pointed out , we really need to admit that all in all, Kimi´s chances don´t look bad at all, last year, as you said, at this stage in the championship he was 20 points behind the leader, this year it´s only 7 or 8 points, and that´s nothing with some many races to go. Kimi is a fighter, that´s his nature, he fought till the end last year when his chances weren´t good and he succeeded, so…..I´m not worried at all. What is pi…. me off is that Hamilton still hasn´t offered a proper apology and hasn´t admitted that it was a mistake, this shows us how immature he still is(did he ever grow up in the first place?). In every British site that I visit there´s a quote from Lewis saying that "this only makes him stronger", and "that McLaren are unstoppable" – clearly a very visible red light stopped them! He´s full of himself, someone needs to teach him a lesson. Hopefully that´s what Kimi will do in France!By the way, soooo loved that "it´s payback time" poster, it´s intimidating, loved it!KEEP FLYING KIMI-KEEP FLYING EVENSTAR-FORZA FERRARI!!!

Also, the media keep repeating Lewis’s words but try to make them sound different. I think he just wants to move on too. He won’t be humble about anything just yet, he’s been so successful, he’ll have tougher times and only after then will his attitude change, I hope. And yeah, Kimi will teach him a lesson like he did last year! haha! glad you loved the payback photo, it’s very sinister eh! The actual pic was from the game Hitman, I’m a huge fan of it. I just put Kimi’s face on it hahaha. Kimi’s pic is from his new Tag Heuer photo.p.s it’s so sweet that you say ‘keep flying Evenstar’ too *hugs*

There’s always two sides to a story, And when I write this im looking at it from another angle, so don’t kill me….
Yeah, Hamilton did make a mistake, yeah it doesn’t make me happy on what he did, but you know Hami is still so young what is he 21,22, 23??, and sometimes I feel its not really him talking. He stepped into Formula 1 and he has become a No 1 Contender in F1, and it seems there is just a lot of pressure on him to win and when he doesn’t win, he doesn’t have the maturity to handle it.
I mean there are a lot of adults who I have come across at home and at work who still can’t accept that they made a mistake.
One more thing, Saima, you play Hitman, I mean , you are probably the only woman I know who does that. Very suprising. What about formula 1??

Yeah, he feels the responsibility of the media is on him too I guess. It’s bad how they idolise him, so he feels obliged to chat rubbish and be a God even when he makes mistakes, just to keep them happy. I’m sure he’s learnt his lesson, but he won’t be humble about it because a) it’s not in his nature and b) the media won’t let him.@Ram, I don’t play F1 much on the computer. I did when I was younger but I don’t have the time lol I’ve only played Hitman a few times, my bro mainly played it, passed each game. I love watching him play, it’s like watching a film! (I saw the film and hated it though lol)

@Ram, I completely agree with you, that he has a lot of pressure by the media, specially the British media, and that this may be one of the reasons he acts like he does, but still he should try to somehow block this pressure, otherwise it will turn against him (if it hasn´t started to turn on him already…), and it can lead him to even worse things. I do admit that I´m completely biased, and I think I´m not capable of saying one kind word about him, I cannot look at it from the outside, so in that way you´re lucky to be able to have that perspective.@Saima, *hugs back*, I´m pleased that you like it, it´s a way of saying thank you for giving us this amazing site and for allowing us to share our thoughts with you and every other Kimi-Ferrari fan; and you put so much effort into in, you´re so involved, you chat with us, you answer our messages, you make the videos, the photos, everything, it´s hard work! So it´s just a little token of my appreciation and also an incentive to keep you going.

H Saima, once again thank you for all the great works… nowadays no matter how busy or where I am, the first chance I have I always check if any new photos or new comments on the "K R Space" …. honestly I don’t think you’re biased at all, when I saw Lewis hit Kimi on ITV, the first word that came to my mind was "stupid", just couldn’t find any other words to describe it. I think Kimi’s " it’s a bit stupid" comment was actually very kind.
By the way Saima, where was that "one-eye" mysterious girl photo gone to? I kinda miss her… 🙂 What’s your cat’s name?
BIG HUG to you and KEEP FLYNG KIMI!!!!!!!

First tell us your name dear Kimi fan! 😛 You’re welcome, I just try to give what I would love to see as a Kimi fan, share the love baby! lolI thought it was time for a change with the display pic, you’ll have to get used to this one! Billy is my cat’s name.Kimi’s going to own the field at France. Maybe I shouldn’t be cocky and over-confident as we saw what that can do with Hamilton lol but I’ve had feeling since before Canada that France will be the race where we get back to winning, so keep flying Kimi, reach the stars again!

Like Jackie Stewart said "When he looks back in four or five years he will question himself about what sort of person and driver he was in 2007 and 2008," the Scot said. "
I’m sure he will learn that the media is not really that great, and that’s why I feel Kimi mumbles away, and Schumacher used to snubb the media. I remember once when after a qual session, during the post -qual conference; he was on pole and was asked " We saw you making changes on the steering wheel during your qualifying run, what were you changing" and I Schumi responded " I was heating up a cup of tea"
I feel probably in a couple of years he will realize his mistakes and change either the Kimi way (which i dont think anyone is capable of) or the Schumi way or maybe his own unique way ", I think most of his comments come from the fact that Ron dennis has made him believe that he is the best driver out there and there is no one else that comes close to him plus I think its in his head that " hey, I came into Mclaren and the team preferred me over a double world champion maybe im better than everyone". I think that’s where his over confidence comes from. I really don’t think the Ron dennis approach has helped Hamilton, I feel it will eventually end up destroying his confidence when he begins to lose or has tough season.
That said, If he loses this year’s championship and still continues to be this way. I have to eat my words cause the Kid is just confused with his celebrity status, probably will end up like britney spears or something.
Frankly, for me its better to think this way, cause all the hate is gone (I was online with andersen from the forum on chat and He said I wish hami hits the wall and I said I wish he hits every wall on the track) , Now In my head I think; confused "pretty stupid" kid doesn’t know what to talk and contiues to talk like a barking dog. It’s so much more easier to just ignore him. I’m just looking at France, the Ferrari car and Kimi and nothing else. So everything is positive and I’m happy.

Ha, can’t agree with you more really! But one thing I also felt I learnt after the pit lane accident was – "be careful what you wish for". I’m sure I wasn’t the only one, as you just pointed out, who hoped Lewis would mess his race up. That we were granted but look who else’s race he messed up…I received an email today from an ‘observed informer’ who’s been watching F1 for nearly 50 years. He has some very very interesting comments, read them here: http://rosehillpilot.spaces.live.com/

Also, I find highly peculiar that Lewis claimed to have ‘destroyed everyone’ at Canada, with his car being by far the best of the rest.

Lewis
was not the fastest of the rest on Sunday as he boasted about, Kimi was. And he wasn’t
cruising it, or breezing it or whatever language he used. This is
because he was indeed the lightest of the top 3 cars, possibly even
lighter than Alonso’s Renault. Yet, Kimi was the fastest and would have probably won. Lewis wasn’t in front at all as he said. Kimi and Robert were infront of him!

Millions of people watched the race, I don’t think anyone would say Hami was fastest on the grid, that’s just it…isn’t it? Lewis was probably told ; rather manipulated into thinking that he was way more quicker than everyone else by Mclaren and Ron, and he just believes it completely and it shows when he talks, I think he said something about france too today, forgot that again.:-) I think most of the over confidence he has, comes from the team and the media. One of these days when things go wrong with either one of them, he’s probably gonna self destruct. I personally feel like the only way he can function if he is being time again and time again by everyone around him that he is the fastest guy out there.
Any fool could see kimi was faster, I mean seriously if you believe you have the faster car, then why think of a three stopper or a lower fuel load. You should be able to win easily on a two stopper hands down. Frankly I think it would be better for lewis as a driver and a person if he had been in a mid field team and then came up to big teams.

Wow! Just read that article you recommended Saima, and let me tell you it´s pretty INTERESTING! I´m intrigued by what this man says, that McLaren had a look at Lewis´ car during the pit stop and thought it wasn´t in such good shape as to finish the race?!?!?! And that maybe that´s why they send him flying down the pitlane and had him crash into Kimi on purpose?!?!?! The way this guy Peter explains it, sounds perfectly right to me. People looking from the outside may think that this article is Ferrari biased and that there isn´t such a conspiracy, but it wouldn´t be the first nor the last time that McLaren have cheated, right? And as we all have learned, Hamilton wasn´t ever near to being the fastest in the field on Sunday, so that just ads to the speculation. I wonder what did the McLaren pit crew see on the car that wasn´t right?Let me know what you think about all this……………one thing is for sure, McLaren are getting deeper and deeper in mud, and Lewis isn´t helping, he should keep quiet like Heikki (my second favourite Finn, even if he´s in a team I despise, he deserves his seat!).Hugs 😉

I read that article too, I must say, yeah that’s a pretty interesting theory, but I must ask, okay let’s just say there was a definite problem on Lewis’s car, and the worst scenario in that case would be Lewis not scoring. Just take a moment to analyze the risks Mclaren would have got if they did do what he says,
1. Lewis could have been banned for some races
2. Points deducted from his championship
3. Grid penalty that could mean he could not fight for the win in the next race as well.
I mean, in that split second, do you really think someone yelled out to Lewis ram Kimi as a solution to their problems not thinking for a moment they could face a huge penalties in the future races or worse Lewis being banned. Remember what Schumi did at Monaco sometime back, that was on purpose.
The spy scandal last year, It was as much as Ferrari’s mistake as was as McLaren’s unprofessional behavior, Companies today highlight security in every doc written. It’s like you have a Bank, a security guard, a locker room ,cameras and if the locker room is kept open, trust me you still are going to get robbed. Then again, Mclaren should have acted in a more professional way, and they have PAID for their mistake, Okay Lewis said nothing , put yourself in his shoes, a team that gave him everything, Ron supported his career, would you go against your own family? Some might say yes, it would be the right thing to do cause that is a logical way of thinking about it, but I also ask would Alonso have said anything if he was given the no 1 status at Mclaren?
I don’t discount his theory at all, it is possible, but i don’t think Mclaren a professional organization is not capable of doing such things. And it not like Mclaren haven’t lost races or championships before….

Whoa! Just read that guy’s blogs! I know a few people have remarked about Lewis deliberately hitting Kimi, but I just put that down to them being Hamilton/McLaren haters, but this does make you think. I can see what Ram is saying below, and I find it hard to believe that McLaren would be foolish enough to ask Hamilton to do such a thing (especially as the team radios are broadcast), but I guess there is a chance that if the team told him his car wouldn’t last, he made up his own mind what he was going to do. A big part of me thinks it is all a bit too far-fetched to believe, but it has happened in the past as that guy rightly says. The only thing he says that I would question is where he says that Hamilton is a British Senna rather than a British Schumacher. Although Golden Wheels may like to think he is the next Senna, I would class him more like Schumi as he is too calculated to race purely with his heart like Senna did. Not to mention that his arrogance is more like Schumacher’s, but then Schumacher could afford to be arrogant, look what he achieved…what has Hamilton achieved? oooh 6 races! And that arrogance will be his downfall. I liked the guy last year, but his egotistical attitude is now getting right up my nose, as well as his inabilty to apologise and accept his mistakes. Now who does that remind me of……oh yeah, that German bloke…

@Saima, Ram and Nicki – I think you guys are right. As much as I would like to believe the conspiracy theory, if it happened or not shouldn´t matter, we shouldn´t care what McLaren or Hamilton do (as far as they don´t do anyhting to Kimi-Ferrari!!!!), and we should only focus on our Iceman´s success. As I have said before, I´m a fierce Latin, and I do tend to pay way too much attention to what is written in the press, and I make a big fuss about nothing, so that´s why I think Evenstar´s site is so important, because we can share our insight on things and maybe realise that not everything is what the press make it about to be.So thanks Ram, Evenstar and Nicki for being more objective than I am, now let´s go to France and kick some a…!!! It´s payback time!!!hahaKEEP FLYING KIMI-KEEP FLYING EVENSTAR-FORZA FERRARI!!!

Oh, don’t worry, I too have times of non-objectiveness (usually during James Allen’s commentary! lol), but i do believe the reason for Hamilton’s ‘harsh’ penalty is not only because he caused an accident in the pitlane, somewhere that should rightly have harder consequences as so many people could have been injured, but also because it is the second time this year he has rear-ended another car. That’s my opinion anyway!
