Kimi Räikkönen, Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton will appear with special helmets for the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

Giancarlo Fisichella will also be celebrating his 200th Grand Prix milestone in the classic streets of Monte Carlo, by sporting a special helmet design to commemorate breaking into the 200 GP mark of the most experienced F1 drivers.

For the Finns, Uffe Tägström has designed the new helmets opposed. For Kimi, he is already familiar with Monaco helmet specials, having 3 separate designs in 2004 (Chrome/Blue), 2005 (Red/Black) and 2006 (Red/Blue).

After all, it is a visible difference with different colours and ‘Monaco’ written on the back. A year ago, Kimi was a new man with a new team in Ferrari, and he didn’t have a special Monaco helmet seeing as he probably had other things
in mind. This time however, Kimi has asked for something different,
Tägström explained.

Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton will be showing off their Steinmetz diamonds helmets. McLaren has promoted their sponsor Steinmetz on their Monaco helmets since 2005, with Kimi and Juan Pablo Montoya (for Kimi the ‘Iceman’ letters and Juan Pablo’s name were plated with many diamonds hand crafted by Steinmetz). For the McLaren drivers this year, it is their signatures on top of their helmets which are diamond engraved.

Yay! I’m glad that Kimi has felt like having a Monaco special helmet again. It was one thing missing from his Ferrari debut last year, but obviously as mentioned in the article, perhaps he wasn’t in the mood. I can’t wait to see it and I’m sure you guys can’t either, so watch this space and check the latest pics from Monaco here!  But until they arrive, I’ve uploaded many photos of Kimi’s helmets from the previous Monaco GPs.
