Q & A with Kimi

From ITV-F1.com

Louise Goodman: Can you sum up your Spanish Grand Prix weekend for us?

Kimi Raikkonen: It was the first weekend that we
didn’t have any problems in practice or anywhere else. Any time you
have a small problem in practice it always hurts because you always
miss the laps that you were planning to do.

there beforehand. Qualifying was a big key, the start is always
important and we managed to be first into the first corner. After that
it wasn’t too difficult.

Louise: Did you have to push hard in the race or did you have speed in reserve?

KR: For sure we were pushing hard but if we needed
to we could [have gone] still faster. With all the safety cars it
wasn’t so clear; with a normal race it would have been pretty easy.

Louise: Ferrari has won three races in a row now – is it too early to say you’re going to dominate the championship?

KR: Yeah, I think so. We had difficulties in Monaco
and Montreal last year, and if anything it will be more difficult for
us there than any other places.

So we need to wait and see how we will do at those places. For sure
the car is a bit stronger [this year], but we haven’t had those
circuits yet so it’s very difficult to say exactly how we will go there.

Louise: What kind of challenge do you think Felipe [Massa]
will present this weekend, given that it’s a circuit where he’s done
very well in the last couple of years?

KR: For sure he’s been very fast at this circuit.
Hopefully like the last race we can get everything working and we can
be in a position to try to win the race.

You never know, maybe BMW or McLaren will be there, so we just need to do the best job we can and see where we end up.

Come on Kimi, you say you could have gone faster whenever you win – but thanks to the annoying two-race engine distance rule, you can’t really spread those wings…but keep flying! Looking forward to another great weekend at Turkey, it seems Kimi is doing really well at the circuits he won at with McLaren. I think this is just a sign of him finally being happy with the car and he can be his usual speedy self – just what the fans want.
