As we mentioned earlier, it was five years ago today that Kimi won his maiden F1 race, with McLaren at the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix. Same place, same circuit, but a different car. Back then, Kimi was just getting his career started in Formula One and now he wins as a world champion. I can’t believe how quickly the F1 season’s go by.
I hope you like a few comparisons I made below, showing photos where Kimi has always remained Kimi. I think it’s a great moment to hail the success of a driver who won some great races with both of the greatest teams in F1. Congratulations!

In those five long years, sometimes things went wrong for Kimi. If you don’t like cheesy jokes, hear the man put it best:

Beautiful pictures Saima! I enjoyed the race so much!!! It was classical Kimi, winning without a sweat, simple, fast and care free! This win is for all of you who slammed Ferrari in the head after Australia.KEEP FLYING KIMI!

Great pictures. He really does look the same, only with a few kilos more ;o)) Such a shame he missed the championship that year and two years after that. But both times he was considered as the people’s champion… He’s great. Thanks Evenstar for all the work on the live space.
