Earlier this year, Racecar announced that they would be renovating Kimi’s official website with him being a world champion and all.
So, what do we, the fans, think?
It’s a really good improvement. I’m much more happy with this one opposed to the design they used for 2007 which seemed more Ferrari dominated with red and white. There’s a lot more content and it’s user friendly as navigation with flash websites tend to annoy more than please. Every section clear to see – I love the transitions for
opening the different areas, derived from the distinctive Kimi ‘sign’.
I just adore the use of his unique helmet
logo – I’ve been quite attached to it over the years (as you would have probably noticed through this website). He’s had this emblem crowning his talent ever since he started his F1 career, so it’s definatly a good thing to see. There’s the news, biography, season, multimedia (which tends to always be rather bland – one reason why the Kimi Raikkonen Space was born!) and there’s the shop, forum and sponsor information.
When I first came across Kimi’s website back in 2002 it was mainly blue and the forum was black – many members agree that black was the best template though some thought it was too dull. But with Kimi being a champion, I’m sure we can deal with it’s return. Personally, I think it’s exciting that it’s back – reminiscent of the younger Kimi who captivated eyes all over the motorsport world. Applause.
