SMILE!

< One Ring to rule them all! Haha..at Monaco.
Taken from his column: Raikkonen optimistic of tyre progress
"Every time I get into the car my knowledge of the tyres improves.
They are really different to the ones I used during the last year. As
far I as understand by reading the papers, also Fernando (Alonso) is in
a similar situation. It is fundamental to have a good lap and I will
give it all.
Until now the qualifyings did not work out as I wanted it to be, but we did a lot of work to improve the situation.
It would be wonderful to win with a red car (in Monaco) and it would be much easier if I could start from the front row
"
Good luck Raikko! He really could do with a good qualifying weekend. He had a fairly good chance last year despite not being on pole, so I’m not too worried.
Championship points is paramount and at Monaco you must be extra careful but super fast at the same time – now that’s a challenge indeed!
Massa: rules make Monaco a lottery
"I have seen the weather forecast for the weekend and unbelievably, they say there is a chance of rain.
Believe it or not, if it does rain, it will be a completely new
experience for me, as I have never driven this track in the wet. But
when it rains, it rains on everyone"
So
I hope it does rain then, it’ll be crazy watching the drivers trying to
deal with it, especially on top of their tyre adaption troubles! Alonso
drove a great race in Hungary 2006 in the wet, and Kimi is also pretty
good in wet conditions, remember Brazil 2003? The track was absolutely
drenched before the race started, and drivers were spinning off
everywhere, mostly into turn 1, but Kimi kept his car together and
almost won the race, had Alonso not caused the red flag. So, will there
be rain at Monaco this weekend? Who knows, but for the sake of a bi of
drama, I wouldn’t mind!
Haug: Hamilton not Monaco favourite Awww sorry James (Allen)…
"Whatever the outcome is at Monaco we will support him. He has had
fantastic races there in the past. He is a street racer. He likes those
types of tracks. But now the focus is maybe on him too much.
I can understand the enthusiasm in England, but now everybody only
speaks about Lewis. Former race drivers, whoever, all saying ‘I knew he
was a star’, but the reality is without Ron, and the system, he would
be in a different place.
He probably would have made it, but maybe he would not. The reality
is that the guys who really are close to him speak the least, and that
is correct.
In the last few years we have won more races than anyone else at
Monaco, and Ferrari haven’t been too happy there and were not too
successful. But I can see at least eight to ten cars that can be
surprisingly quick there."
Monaco really is a big deal then, as you can see. Not just because of it’s historic relation to the sport and the glamour surrounding it – it’s the ultimate test for a driver and his car. And the amount of pressure on Hamilton, let alone Kimi and Alonso, is very heavy. It’s a weekend not to miss! Check out the photos below for the preparations going on:
the F2007 has a different nose it seems.
