The Hungarian Grand Prix

The weekend begins as does the Hungarian grand prix racing. A week on since the German grand prix, and Kimi will be racing as fast as he can as always.

Go Mclaren, I havent given up.

Sunday, Race Day:

I have no words to capture what Im feeling. Kimi won! Yes he won, he fought for it, he fought for justice after Hockenheim. And well deserved this win was. After going out first in qualifying, Kimi won.

His take off from the start was very important, both him and Juan got infront of the Toyota which would have undoubtedly kept the Mclarens up. Hungary is a track of very very few overtaking spots, yet Kimi was on the hunt for Michael Schumacher upfront. The Ferrari had a good clean start and Kimi didnt rest for one moment. He had to pass Michael in order to win.

Now this is what really made me silent. It was the way Kimi kept focused and so close to Michael, he kept getting closer and closer as the laps unfolded. The lap where Michael went in for his first pit stop, Kimi was right on his butt! 0.1 second off atleast! Now Kimi flew away with Michael refuelling, Kimi sets the fastest first sector on that lap, pressured to keep infront of the Ferrari. Now one lap after Michael pits, its Kimi’s turn.

In doing so, Kimi set the faster last sector of the track entering the pits! What a race he is on! Amazing! And it was one of the best pit stops i have seen from Mclaren. They needed to be calm, relaxed, no mistakes. And they did it excellently! Kimi got out of the pits infront of Michael! By 1.5 seconds. It was a real effort from Kimi and the team.

NOW Kimi can speed off into the distance and lead his car to glory. Juan Pablo was set for second place after pitting, however he suffered a gear box problem. Thus, Juan dropped out of the race, which was extremely upsetting. Another chance of a 1-2 finish at Mclaren out the window. If Juan had been second, Mclaren would be just 4 points off Renault in the Constructors title. Always a but with Mclaren eh? So a dissapointing day for the Colombian 😦

Nonetheless, this was an amazing win from Kimi. I am so proud of him. So proud. Delighted with his talent. What made the win even more sweet was that Alonso and Renault finished the race without any points. Alonso damaged his front wing in turn 1 off the start of the race, having to pit and re join at the back. He had a rather shitty race lol its about time! Its Alonso’s turn now, to taste the pain of motor racing. Kimi has suffered it enough. ENOUGH YOU HEARD!

It was a superb race, the crowds were fantastic, Hungary being the closest home grand prix for Kimi, as it was for Mika Hakkinen. The sea of blue finnish flags waving, the cheering as Kimi passed the finish line is what really made this win special. It was so loud, i dont remember a Ferrari win being cheered that much. And this was all for Kimi. He deserves it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it is also his 1st anniversary with his wife Jenni Dahlman Raikkonen, they married last July 30th. She was there, with Kimi’s mother, smiling and claping for their man, who we should have seen so much more often on that top place.

It has been a good win for Kimi. With Alonso scoring zero points, Kimi cut down the title gap to 26 points. There is light at the end of the tunnel for Kimi and Mclaren.

GO MCLAREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, Qualifying:

Ah, what an excellent performance yet again from the Finn! Absolutely fantastic is all I can say. Kimi being the first to go out for his lap, due to his retirement in Germany, it would have been undoubtedly hard for him to set a decent time close to what his team mate Juan would set. The dirt on the track is still settled, no heat, no grip. But Kimi did a stellar job in getting the most out of his car to gain 4th place! Yes, 4th!!!!!!! Just as I predicted so I wasnt at all shocked. I know my Kimi afterall 😉

Juan Pablo was second last to go out for his lap, after Michael Schumacher setting provisional pole, which was result of their improvement this weekend in practises. Michael is thought to be on a 3 stopper for the race. So nothing major to worry about there, he is light on fuel, but with better tyres. Juan managed to get what he potentially could I guess, 2nd place.  Can you believe that?! Kimi being just 2 places down from Juan, having gone out first? Magnificent!

Although Trulli is inbetween Juan and Kimi, he will cause trouble for Kimi unless Kimi passes him from the start off. Trulli must be out of Kimi’s way, in order for the Finn to have a chance for a win tomorrow.

Alonso was last to go out, having Michael still keeping provisional pole, thinking he could beat the Ferrari’s pace. However Alonso pushed a little to hard, and thus resulted in a little wide run off on the last turn lol. We all make mistakes, and this couldnt be sweeter for Kimi, to have the title leader in 6th place behind him!

Smiles on all our faces here at home, and no doubt at Mclarens too. Kimi has kept his head down and is back to business! Some major ass whupping! He only increases my faith in him, bless him and keep him safe in the race tomorrow God!

Come on MCLAREN!!!!!! Fly Kimi Fly!
