https://i0.wp.com/i11.photobucket.com/albums/a188/SaimaAzam/Misc/krsevenstarsmall3.png Hey guys! What a great start to the weekend with Kimi and Ferrari announcing an extension of their union (phew!). And to go quickest in the second session is always a positive. I wasn’t around at all to follow, see or hear anything about the F1 today and am really sorry about it. But here’s the info – better late than never. Although we do prefer to remain as punctual as possible! Kimi covered as many laps he could in the first session, more than his main rivals could manage so that probably helped him a lot for the second session. Hopefully part 2 of this weekend continues well tomorrow in qualifying.

Kimi Raikkonen – 1st: "I am pleased with how today
went. Step by step, the car finally seems to respond well and I think
we can be very quick here. The set-up is good and I don’t think that
any rain that might fall will represent a handicap. I will try and do
my best, as always.

"The contract? I am happy to be part of this team, otherwise I
wouldn’t have signed! There’s a good atmosphere between us all and I
continue to enjoy the driving. So it was definitely not a difficult
choice to stay for one more year. Even in the most difficult moments,
we have continued to work hard and now we are moving in the right
direction. I am sure the results will also come soon."

Felipe Massa – 6th: "I’m not 100% happy with the
way things went today. I struggled a bit to find the right grip level
on the first timed lap, unlike the others. So, this means we still have
to work to get it right, but I am still confident…"

Luca Baldisserri: "Clearly, today’s work was
limited by the weather, which was particularly bad this morning. Only
when there was less than an hour to go to the chequered flag were we
able to run in the dry and then the track conditions were very
different to those at the test…"

Adrian Sutil emerged fastest for Force India in a very wet opening
practice session for the Italian Grand Prix, having been one of the few
drivers to set a flying lap when the circuit was vaguely dry.

Rain fell for most of the morning at an extremely gloomy Monza, with
the track damp initially and only a handful of teams choosing to go out
before further showers prevented quick times being set. (Read full practise report here.)
